RESEARCH AT MADHURAM HOSPITAL

RESEARCH :

To remain at the forefront of medical advances, FWNC takes part in many research studies. We regularly work with the county's foremost pharmaceutical companies to develop and improve medications, we conduct treatment studies with major medical universities, and our physicians conduct research projects to help develop the most effective treatment techniques in their specialties.

TRAUMA :

Dr. Vasavada's Trauma research program aims to become the benchmark for national and international trauma research that addresses fundamental and major issues of injury in its broadest sense affecting prevention, patient care, delivery of care issues, public policy and financing of trauma care and systems of care. All clinical research trials must be reviewed by an internal research committee which ensures that each trial does not interfere with existing research protocols and ensures that the design works in concert with existing clinical operations.
Dr. Vasavada's Trauma Research Committee also reviews all research protocols for scientific merit and feasibility prior to Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission. Each trial must be approved by the IRB prior to implementation.

NEURO :

Neuroscience in the Department of Neurosurgery focuses on brain disease and injury, with the goals of protecting and repairing damage caused by stroke, cancer, and trauma, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Disease. Under the direction of Dr. Vasavada, strong collaborations between basic scientists and scientist-clinicians are making this our most productive era of basic research. Although research themes vary from lab to lab, they are all focused on aspects of brain disease and injury that can be investigated at the bench—and they all have clear implications for practices in the clinic and operating r
